Pittsburgh housing prices stay positive

Compared to a dire report released Tuesday that found record-low prices in the nation's 20-biggest housing markets, the Pittsburgh region looks rosy.
Twelve of 20 metropolitan regions measured by the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices released Tuesday showed record-low median home prices, including Cleveland, Las Vegas, New York and Tampa. The 20-city composite (which doesn't include Pittsburgh) also dropped 3.6 percent in the first quarter compared to a year ago; only Washington, D.C., was up overall. The national housing market shows little sign of recovery, S&P said Tuesday.
