Back to School : Start Dates for Neighborhood Districts

Pittsburgh custom home builderReady or not, school is starting in the next few weeks for many families. If you live in a Paragon home, getting organized and finding space for school supplies, sports equipment, and afternoon snacks should be no problem, because we help our clients design storage and living spaces to fit every need. Here is a quick look at our “home” districts and when they are scheduled to begin the new school year. We hope everyone has a great year!

 

 

South Fayette Township School District

Students head back for the first day of class on Wednesday, August 22. South Fayette has again topped the Pittsburgh Business Times annual Honor Roll list as the number one school district in the 5-county region. The district also earned the #3 spot statewide, based on three year’s worth of standardized test scores.

Chartiers Valley School District

School begins on Wednesday, August 22 in Chartiers Valley, which serves Collier Township, Bridgeville, Heidelberg, and Scott Township. The district opened a brand new middle school last year and continues its renovation project involving areas of the high school, to be completed in 2019.

Montour School District

Serving Robinson Township, Ingram, and Thornburg, Montour School District will resume classes on Monday, August 27. The district will introduce a cutting edge program in artificial intelligence this year in its middle school’s newly renovated, 3,000 square foot learning space.

Peters Township School District

School begins on Wednesday, August 22. In the April 2018 “Guide to Western Pennsylvania Schools,” the Pittsburgh Business Times ranked Peters fifth among 105 districts in our area, up one spot from 2017. Peters Township School District earned a rank of 10th overall across the state.

North Allegheny School District

The first day for students is Thursday, August 23. Niche recently ranked North Allegheny second in its list of top school districts in the entire Pittsburgh area. The district is bolstering security this year with creation of a full-time manager of school safety and security.

Upper St. Clair School District

Students return to school on Monday, August 27. Since the late 1990s, Upper St. Clair School District has offered International Baccalaureate (IB) programs for different grade levels, and last year reported that 129 students earned the distinction of being AP Scholars. Baker Elementary School will unveil its completed PTA Playground Project this year.
