Back to school tips from Paragon Homes Custom BuilderIf you have children of school age, you have most likely been out shopping for notebooks, crayons, backpacks and snacks for lunches. It’s a good time to reorganize or rethink your home’s most-used living areas to create inviting, designated spaces for homework and also to hide the extra clutter from school projects and sports activities.

Paragon Homes has a number of new home neighborhoods around Pittsburgh, and one thing they all share is location in premier public school districts. Here’s a roundup of school start dates and a little more about each district. We hope everyone has a great start to the school year!

South Fayette Township School District

Students head back for the first day of class on Monday, August 21. South Fayette once again topped the Pittsburgh Business Times annual Honor Roll list as the number one school district in the region. Niche.com recently ranked South Fayette High School among the top 50 statewide. https://www.southfayette.org

Chartiers Valley School District

School begins on Tuesday, September 5. The district is wrapping up an $88.5 million renovation/construction project for the middle and high school buildings. Chartiers Valley was recently selected to participate in the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) College Readiness Program. http://www.cvsd.net

Montour School District

Students in grades K-4 will start school in a brand new, state-of-the-art elementary building in Robinson Township serving the entire district. School begins for all students on Wednesday, September 6. http://www.montourschools.com/

Peters Township School District

School begins on Tuesday, August 29. The Pittsburgh Business Times ranked Peters Township’s middle school #1 in the region, and the district made the annual report’s top 10 list across all other grade levels. The district has started soliciting construction proposals for a new high school building. http://www.ptsd.k12.pa.us/

North Allegheny School District

Niche.com recently ranked North Allegheny as one of the best districts (#15) in the nation. School begins on Thursday, August 31. Interior and exterior renovations to the Intermediate High School were completed this summer. https://www.northallegheny.org/

Upper St. Clair School District

Students return to school on Tuesday, August 29. Since the late 1990s, Upper St. Clair School District has offered International Baccalaureate (IB) programs for different grade levels. The district recently earned a 5th place rank in the region from the Pittsburgh Business Times. https://www.uscsd.k12.pa.us/
