The Pittsburgh Business Times this week published its 2018 Honor Roll of top public school districts in the 5-county Pittsburgh region, and two of our new home communities are located in the two top districts — South Fayette and Upper St. Clair.
This year’s “best of” list was compiled based on three years of standardized test scores and included 105 districts in Allegheny, Washington, Beaver, Butler and Westmoreland counties.
South Fayette Township School District once again earned the #1 spot among local districts, as well as ranking #3 statewide. Our Deerfield Ridge custom home community is located in South Fayette. We are also currently building unique homes in our Fair Acres community in Upper St. Clair School District, the region’s second highest ranking district, and at Marks Landing in Robinson Township, part of the #14-ranked Montour School District.
Even if you don’t have children in school, choosing to build in a top ranked public school district strengthens your custom home’s investment value. A high performing local school district also reflects the overall vibrancy of and amenities in the neighborhood. If you do have children, or are planning to start a family, the reputation and performance of local public schools will play a big role in where you decide to live. It’s always a good idea to visit local school district websites or schedule an in-person visit to a school as well as talk to current residents when you are planning on a move.
We are always happy to share information about the neighborhoods where we are building, or to evaluate your own lot for a custom home project. Contact us — we’d love to talk with you!
